Dancesounds launched in February 2002, a collaboration between husband and wife team, Paul and Rachel Jackson. Paul composes all the music and can't dance a step, but that's no problem because Rachel is a former dance teacher.
Paul A. Jackson
has been involved in performing, writing and arranging music
throughout his life. He was keyboard player and vocalist for a soul band whilst writing and producing
material for solo and ensemble projects. He has a BA Hons degree in Popular
Music and Recording and currently works in the BBC music archive. He enjoys listening to a wide variety of music and likes to
work in different styles such as pop, electro, dance and ambient with elements of jazz, world and classical styles.
Rachel Jackson studied at The Weguelin School of Russian Ballet and The Legat School of Classical Ballet.
She studied A Level Dance at West Kent College and gained a BA Hons degree in Dance Studies at
Roehampton Institute and went on to teach A Level Dance at the RAD and National Curriculum Dance
at secondary level. She later worked at the NRCD and Dancing Times magazine
before setting up Dancesounds with Paul. Together they have a little boy called
Adam.
